The 'Bridges CD', a benefit compilation music project featuring 29 Northwest artists for the Pacific Oncology Cancer Foundation is complete and will be available for sale soon- ($12.99 for the 2-disc set). Proceeds from this CD will support the Pacific Oncology Foundation, which will be used to help those undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
Music is a very powerful way to reach children, adolescents, and adults in the therapeutic setting and provides a unique way for people to express their feelings. Music reaches people in ways that traditional therapy sometimes cannot.
There is evidence that when used along with conventional treatment, music helps to reduce pain, relieve chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting and can lower heart rate, blood pressure and breathing rate. It may also relieve stress, providing an overall sense of well being.
Steve Vaile, was honored with the closing track on the project entitled, 'Journey Through The Heavens'...
"Supporting 'The Bridges' Pacific Oncology Cancer Foundation project is especially personal to me. My Mother passed recently after a long struggle with cancer. 'Journey Through The Heavens', is dedicated to honor her memory. This work, which appears on my new 'You Comfort Me' CD, was co-produced and engineered by Aram 'Hippie' Cartozian. Aram is recovering from cancer and lost a kidney recently. This music is dedicated to 'Hippie's Wall Of Sound'."
Preview 'Journey Through The Heavens' at CD Baby or Steve Vaile & Friends @ MySpace.

For Immediate Release:
'You Comfort Me' is completed this week with some final mastering touches.
I am most grateful at this time to offer this CD in service to mankind.
I describe my new CD release, ‘You Comfort Me’ as a soundtrack waiting for a film to happen. The project’s music was completed this week after 5 years of development, although the bulk of the production process has been in full swing the last 14 months. That’s when I started working as a team with Aram ‘Hippie’ Cartozian, with the initial project starting as mixing and mastering “War Or Peace Prayer For The Soldiers”. I was creating the Steve Vaile International Rock Philharmonic tracks in the studio to create “War Or Peace Prayer For The Soldiers” and being the track hog I am had at least 11 boards of mixes and sub-mixes to put the symphony together. Friends came in to do everything from choirs, bagpipes, guitars, drums and other symphonic layers of love. I was definitely in over my head in how to get all the tracks mixed, balanced and mastered. I’m so grateful 'Hippie' came into the relationship making the music ready for the big screen and for all our fun being a creative team.
There is more joy ahead than we can see.
Thanks for letting me share with you- ‘You Comfort Me’.
…Steve Vaile,
Steve Vaile International Rock Philharmonic

This week vocalist, Irene Soderberg flew in from Los Angeles to sing backup vocals for 'Say Love'. Mixing of the drums with Rick Freimuth and additional Hippie drums has been underway all last week. This song is kicking butt, maintaining heavens of hamornies. Hippie is an amazing sound master. Thanks

Today I'm 482,162 hours old. Aram and I did the foundation tracks mix of 'Say Love' today, the final cut coming together for my new CD. My guitar player Colin and I had a great time this weekend rocking out.

You Comfort Me
Words & Music by Steve Vaile
C P 2006 Steve Vaile International ASCAP
A world of heaven that I see
You comfort me
Looking there in your eyes
You comfort me
I come home tired hungry as can be
You comfort me
When I’m lonely and you hold me
You comfort me
Chorus: When the day is done
You comfort me
Until the morning sun
You comfort me
Until my life is gone
You comfort me
A new day dawns
You comfort me
When the autumn leaves turn to gold
You comfort me
When the winter snowmen up and grow
You comfort me
When the spring rains make the rivers flow
You comfort me
When the summer sun makes the flowers bloom
You comfort me
Repeat Chorus
When the moon and stars touch the sea
You comfort me
When the child inside me cries to sleep
You comfort me
When the morning comes and it’s time for me to go
You comfort me
And in the end I know you’ll always be around
Thank God you comfort me
Repeat Chorus
Look what you’ve done for me
You comfort me
I love how you comfort me
I love how you comfort me
I love how you comfort me

"What About You" is influenced by some favorite artists from over the years- the sounds of The Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Jarre’, Vangelis and classical symphonies. Produced by Steve Vaile and Aram ‘Hippie’ Cartozian, this special edition EP features "Hippie's Wall Of Sound". The 4-song EP is a taste of a new full-length CD project currently in production and a full vocal and choir ‘single’ will soon follow this instrumental release.
“A homeless man I met recently in Hawaii inspired the title track. "What About You", were the first words that came out of his mouth when I offered him some food.”
“Hurricane Katrina also had a hand in the inspiration of this new CD. The first song I wrote when I was living in Kula, Maui, was “I Want To Make Music”. That was back in 1977 when my life up on the slopes of the Haleakala Crater was glowing with rebirth and expansion. My buddy had just recently passed away in San Francisco and I processed the loss of my friend by creating music.”
“This last year when the Katrina Hurricane devastated New Orleans and the surrounding area I was moved to write a new chorus and bring the two pieces together. Katrina raised our ability to know compassion and what followed inspired “Hurricane I Want To Make Music.”
"What About You" is dedicated to those in need and all our homeless that struggle to survive.”
Portland is hosting the “National Healthcare For The Homeless” Conference June 8 - 10 at the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower. Central City Concern’s advisory council has been working with City Hall to offer the approx. 1500 visiting Drs. and health care staff from across the country our welcome to The City of Roses.
Mayor Tom Potter, will welcome the group in opening ceremonies at the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower, Thursday, June 8th. During the conference tours are scheduled to include local Healthcare agency sites throughout Portland to show our facilities and share our programs in action. In many ways Portland has served as a model for the rest of the country in showing compassion by helping the homeless population through A & D programs, housing, medical assistance and job placement in our community.

My hubby and I went to Tillamook and hooked this pretty hen on a cut plug herring 10/6/05 in front of the Coast Guard Station. The seaweed was terrible but we did luck out. Good luck to all the other fisher people.
